**Flystrike (myiasis)** is a condition where flies lay eggs on a dog's skin—usually in wounds, wet fur, or soiled areas—which hatch into maggots that feed on the dog's tissue. **High-risk areas:** open wounds, matted or urine-soaked fur, skin folds, and the tail/hindquarters, particularly in warm weather.
